1. Pay Attention
Give the speaker your undivided attention, and acknowledge the message. Recognize that non-verbal communication also “speaks” loudly.
Look at the speaker directly.
Put aside distracting thoughts.
Don’t mentally prepare a rebuttal!
Avoid being distracted by environmental factors. For example, side conversations.
“Listen” to the speaker’s body language.
2. Show That You’re Listening
Use your own body language and gestures to convey your attention.
Nod occasionally.
Smile and use other facial expressions.
Note your posture and make sure it is open and inviting.
Encourage the speaker to continue with small verbal comments like yes, and uh huh.
3. Provide Feedback
Our personal filters, assumptions, judgments, and beliefs can distort what we hear. As a listener, your role is to understand what is being said. This may require you to reflect what is being said and ask questions.
Reflect what has been said by paraphrasing. “What I’m hearing is,” and “Sounds like you are saying,” are great ways to reflect back.
Ask questions to clarify certain points. “What do you mean when you say.” “Is this what you mean?”
Dr. Axe describes that in order to perform your best as an athlete, some of the best supplements you can be consuming are a high quality protein powder, a greens superfood powder, and a good quality fish oil supplement.
High quality protein powder provides more amino acids to build muscle tissue, like a grass-fed whey protein. You can get his Axe Naturals Healing Protein in his online Dr. Axe store.
A greens powder, such as my Axe Naturals Green Superfood, is vital for athletes to avoid joint issues and increase athletic performance because it contains compounds like chlorella, spirulina, and wheat grass, helping to alkalize your body.
Lastly, to increase your athletic performance a high quality fish oil, like my Axe Naturals Omega D3, is vital because it contain omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, reducing inflammation throughout the body. In our family (the Shultz household), we take IQ Mega and it doesn’t have the fishy taste. It is citrus tasting.
Taking these three supplements will help your athletic performance soar.
Communication is about more than just exchanging information. It’s about understanding the emotion and intentions behind the information. Effective communication is also a two-way street. It’s not only how you convey a message so that it is received and understood by someone in exactly the way you intended, it’s also how you listen to gain the full meaning of what’s being said and to make the other person feel heard and understood.
More than just the words you use, effective communication combines a set of skills including nonverbal communication, engaged listening, managing stress in the moment, the ability to communicate assertively, and the capacity to recognize and understand your own emotions and those of the person you’re communicating with.
Effective communication is the glue that helps you deepen your connections to others and improve teamwork, decision making, and problem solving. It enables you to communicate even negative or difficult messages without creating conflict or destroying trust.

In this video, Dr. Axe shares with you my top natural remedies to cure a sore throat. There are four main items that can help you cure a sore throat very fast.
The first product that can help ease your throat is olive leaf extract, which can kill off any bad bacteria and fungus in your body as well as function as an anti-viral.
Secondly, colloidal silver is great for curing a sore throat because it has powerful anti-bacterial and anti-viral activity in it. My favorite way to use colloidal silver is through a throat spray. I would recommend using it every 30 minutes if needed.
Sea Salt is the third ingredient I would recommend for curing a sore throat because it has natural soothing effects to the throat when consumed, which naturally treats a sore throat. Start with mixing sea salt and water and gargling this mixture three times a day.
Lastly, using essential oils like lemon, oregano, and peppermint will help cure your sore throat. These three oils are the most effect oils for treating a sore throat. You could also add these oils to your throat spray to make it even more powerful.
In addition to these four natural remedies, getting plenty of rest and consuming a nutritional diet are important. Sleeping 8 + hours is vital to helping your immune system fight your virus and consuming a lot of fruits and vegetables, bone broth, and avoiding sugars and grains will help you overcome your sore throat fast.
BELOW are 10 All-Natural things to do if you’re having trouble falling asleep:
1. Go to bed in a cold, dark room. (Temperature between 60-73˚) The cold will help decrease your core body temperature, in turn initiating sleepiness.
2. Go to bed at the same time every night, wake up at the same time. Your body will get used to the cycle and it will become easier to get good sleep. Try to get 8 hours per night.
3. Don’t eat foods high in carbohydrates before bed. Focus on nuts, seeds, veggies and meat for dinner.
4. No caffeine after 3pm (it has a 12 hour lasting effect)
5. Exercise daily in the morning. Exercising at night can lead to alertness.
6. Don’t watch TV or work on the computer in your bed. The bright screen can also lead to alertness. I personally like to read a fiction book or spiritual growth book. Non fiction books tend to ignite new ideas and can lead to alertness.
7. If you’re having racing thoughts or worried about the next day, write it all out on paper.
8. Eat the right foods throughout the day. These foods will aid in falling asleep: Grassfed beef, Flaxseeds, Chia Seeds, Wild Caught Salmon, Raw Dairy.
9. Supplement with Calcium Magnesium within 1 hour of going to bed. He recommends CALM (Amazon link:http://amzn.to/LBFZtM)
10. Supplement with Omega-3 Fish oil throughout the day.
In today’s video, Dr. Axe shares with you the foods, supplements, natural treatments, and essential oils for ADHD. He guarantees if you follow these remedies, you’re going to see improvement in focus and reducing ADHD-like symptoms
First, you absolutely want to remove sugar from your diet. Sugar can cause a lack of focus, or hyperactive behavior. Secondly, you want to load up your diet with healthy protein, fat, and fibers. This will keep your blood sugar steady. You will want to have a high, nutrient-dense diet that includes vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, organic meats and foods high in omega-3 fatty acids.
The top supplement you want to include in your diet to treat ADHD is fish oil (500-1000mg daily). Another supplement that can support the nervous system, brain, and focus is vitamin B complex.
Lastly, vetiver and cedarwood essential oils are the most effective essential oils you can use for treating ADHD. Take two drops of each oil and rub them on your neck and temple for improvement on focus.
Please contact e if you are interested in getting some of the supplements that he mentions. There are some good ones that taste citrisy instead of fishy…
