Whether you’re facing a difficult season or simply seeking greater self-awareness, Mary Kay is here to walk alongside you with compassion and expertise.
Mary Kay provides individual, family, couples and group outpatient and telehealth counseling for people of all ages. She works with people who may be struggling with relationship issues, anxiety issues, substance abuse and addiction and behavioral addictions, bullying, conflict resolution, grief loss issues, trauma and PTSD, anger management, adult and childhood ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders. She also assists children and families with parent-child relational issues and behavior modification skill development. She has worked within the school system, inpatient and outpatient settings, in homes, and emergency rooms. She has even trained youth volunteers to assist on a community suicide hotline.
With extensive experience across diverse settings—including schools, inpatient and outpatient programs, in-home services, and emergency rooms—Mary Kay brings a broad and practical perspective to her work. She created curriculum for a unique partial program within the special services school for a county in New Jersey where she managed the staff and children in designated classrooms during the school day and children from other schools in the county joined in at the end of their school days. She provided education, supervision and training to youth who served as peer counselors on a local suicide hotline. Mary Kay tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs and goals. For those dealing with addiction, she encourages participation in a 12-step program while simultaneously addressing therapeutic needs and building healthy supports. She is also happy to incorporate biblical counseling when that is the client’s preference. She holds Missouri, Texas and New Jersey certifications for clinical therapy and also is certified to supervise and train students pursuing their LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and substance abuse credentials. She also is a Certified School Social Worker, a Certified Disaster Response Crisis Counselor, and a Certified Group Facilitator.
Like many people today, Mary Kay has been impacted by how medical issues can affect an individual’s mental health. She helps clients explore the ways chronic illnesses, health conditions, autoimmune issues or complex medical challenges can contribute to anxiety, depression, grief, and emotional distress. She also specializes in supporting those who feel frustrated, dismissed, or unheard by healthcare providers and who struggle to navigate or access appropriate medical care.
Mary Kay is deeply committed to helping individuals overcome barriers, whether they are facing homelessness, hospitalization, incarceration, or other challenges, and has personally witnessed many clients transform their lives into ones of success, stability, and fulfillment. Her goal is to walk alongside you with compassion and expertise as you work toward meaningful, lasting change.
