Everyone deserves to live the life they dreamed of. I get to help people move towards their dream life EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Benjamin Franklin once said “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
I like that motto. However, sometimes it’s not possible to prevent certain things that may happen over the course of our lives. In that case, we focus on recovering and thriving in the midst of different challenges.
Here at Ozarks Wellness Center we have several options:
If you are struggling with intrusive thoughts, trauma, an emotional issue, or a relationship concern, I believe I can heIp you. Depending on your situation, we will develop a plan of action and overcome what may be troubling you together. I have over 30 years experience working within the addictions and mental health fields. Biblical counseling available too.
At this moment, you may be involved in a relationship in need of repair, dealing with issues from your past, or grieving the loss of a loved one. You may be feeling lost or without direction. You may be feeling unhappy in your relationships or just about to make an important life transition. Whatever may be troubling you, I believe I can help you. I have found time and again that ALL people deserve fulfilling relationships and strive for a better life. I look forward to helping you bring a sense of balance and emotional well being into your life.
I have personally witnessed individuals who were once homeless, hospitalized or incarcerated turn their lives around and become successful professionals with loving families. I believe that everyone deserves to live the life they’ve always dreamed of. My objective is to help you remove barriers so that you are empowered to reach your goals and dreams.
I provide individual, family and group outpatient counseling for people of all ages. I work with people who may be struggling with relationship issues, anxiety issues, substance abuse and addiction and behavioral addictions, bullying, conflict resolution, grief loss issues, trauma and PTSD, anger management, adult and childhood ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders. I also assist children and families with parent-child relational issues and behavior modification skill development. I have worked within the school system, inpatient and outpatient settings, in homes, and emergency rooms.
Children and Families
In the past, I have managed and developed the curriculum for the Children’s Partial Care Program for the county where I was working. This program was extremely successful. We worked within the Special Services School for the county. It included elementary and high school age youth. During the school day, we worked with the students in the special services school. After the school day finished, we worked with students who came from the other schools in the county. We used Behavior Modification, as well as, Adventure Based Counseling techniques and helped the students use their strengths to achieve their goals. We also provided family counseling for each family.
I provide individual and family therapy and (depending on the ages of the children and the number of children in my practice at the time) group therapy for children.
Addictions
I have also provided all levels of care and treatment in my work within the addictions community. You may be struggling with an addiction and might be self-medicating by excessively using drugs and/or alcohol. Feel free to reach out if you are seeking help in this area. I’m very inspired by our human potential and resiliency. My practice creates a safe, non-judgmental space wherein a person can begin the journey of self-discovery and personal growth. I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so I have been trained in a range of modalities including: motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT and several other approaches to treatment.
Prevention and Skill Development
You or the organization you are involved with may be looking to improve your communication skills, interpersonal skills, decision making skills, self awareness or other types of skills. I work with individuals and groups. Contact our office if you think you or a group that you are involved with may benefit from this type of intervention. I provide this service to military organizations, first responder groups, professional workplaces or organizations, and many other types of organizations who may be noticing that stressors have increased but the people involved need education or support that would help improve adaptability and personal responsibility development. This is a skill development program and mostly preventative in nature. This is not necessarily a counseling service. The pricing varies depending on the size of the group.
I have trained youth to help peers on a local suicide hotline.
I am also certified to supervise individual professionals working towards obtaining an LCSW, MSW or addictions credential.

A Little Of My Story
Health and Wellness have been a part of my life for a very long time. I was always involved in sports. I fell in love with Ironman triathlon in my adult life after my brother broke his neck in a work injury. He had a goal to improve his health and compete in a triathlon 6 months later. He succeeded and kicked my butt during the race. I was introduced to the triathlon community and have enjoyed competing ever since then. I love to compete in these individual athletic events but I also love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from working together as a team in achieving our goals. In high school I was “that girl” who was voted Most Athletic. I’m not the one you want to be running laps with if you feel like cutting corners. When I was in high school a very close friend and teammate of mine got cancer and died a few years later when I was in college. I played Division 1 basketball and still continue with sports today. After college when I was working, my mother began experiencing different illnesses, cancer was one that she battled through. Later, my father also was diagnosed with cancer. In the end, cancer took them both. Their approaches to the disease were different and yet very similar. I wanted to learn the best ways to comfort them through what they were experiencing and keep them with us as long as possible. I decided to look into methods to help with some of the symptoms that their doctors were unable to conquer. In doing so, I became trained in several different natural treatments and modalities. Long story short, I became obsessed with natural wellness. I still am AND the more I learn the more I want to share.
I am also a BHC – Behavioral Health Consultant. I have spent time working with various Rural Medical Health Clinics. In this role, I work with patients and help to make behavioral and life changes to support the goals they are trying to achieve with their doctors. In this way, we can best address the whole person’s needs.
